Can I sue my previous employer for blaming me for larceny by employee?

I live in the state of North Carolina and in 2005 I was an employee at a hotel and mind you was of the age of 17 and the company didnt even pursue the request of workers permit but none the less I resigned in October 2005 after turning 18 and the new general manager found some sort of error in office communication and blammed me for missing money and pursued to report this to the place , which led to my arrest. There was not really any sufficent evidence with this and now I have suffered attourney fees, newspaper blast and all sorts of emotional stress specially now because I am seeking more work after completing school and this shows on my record. The state dismissed the charges based on non sufficient evidence and the manager has so criminal charges now based on some wrong doing she did at the hotel. How do I seek someone to pay me back for the attourney or the fees for expungement so that I don't have to explain this in interviews as an arrest record still exsist. Help!
