What to do in Lihue - Kauai, Hawaii?

I lived on Kauai for several years and it is my favorite of the Hawaiian chain. Not having a car will definitely take away from your experience....get one if at all possible. Having said that, I would call the hotel and ask to talk to guest services/concierge , they can be extremely helpful and should answer any questions you have about the island and what's available. There is a nice beach at the Marriott and Duke's barefoot bar is a nice spot to enjoy the view of the bay. Kauai also has a pretty good pubic bus service.There are some beautiful beaches....probably it's main attraction and the . canyon(they call it the little grand canyon)is pretty impressive also . Have a good time and catch some rays some people get so wrapped up trying to do/see everything that they don't really appreciate what Hawaii is all about...surf and sun!!
