19D or 74D Mos which one?

Promotions are given typically by promotion points and you get those points by correspondence courses. There are other ways to get promoted but usually your MOS doesn't matter. I don't know If this is a fact but all of the drill sargeants I know move up in rank faster than those guys who were not drill sargeants.
