If a doorman takes away my id cause he says its a fake, even though it is real, is there anything I can do?

This almost happened to me last night, I was wondering if there is anything I can do in case that ever happens? I am living out of state this summer, and it would have been a huge pain to have to go back to Indiana to get a new drivers license.
